PC won't boot, wrecked BIOS

  sanoid 543 16:34 30 Jul 2003

I updated the BIOS on my other PC and now it won't
boot. Does anyone know how to fix this (can you reset it somehow) What is flashing the BIOS?

The process of updating the BIOS is called flashing.
If you have a copy of the BIOS pre-flashed by you, you could try to revert it by reflashing the old data.

You will need to consult whatever you believe in to effect a recovery.

Good luck

if you updated the bios on your other pc,then this is what you have done ie/ flashed it.

what exactly happens at boot?any errors on screen etc?

if you made a back up of the old bios you may be able to flash it back if your floppy is working.otherwise it may be a dead mobo im afraid.

As a final offering.

There is a file called How to recover from a corrupt BIOS chip, from a firm called amptron. A search on google may reveal more.

It seems that a corrupt BIOS will activate the floppy in the hope of finding something useful.
