PC in start-up loop

Last night I downloaded a trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 as my Norton anti virus subscription had expired. So, I installed the software and scanned the pc for the first time. It managed to pick up (I think) two trojans and then asked me to re-start the pc.

Upon re-start it goes to the blue welcome screen, hangs for a minute or so and then I am given the option of clicking on my username to start. The following text appears on screen:

"After you log on you can add or change accounts. Just go to control panel and click user accounts."
Upon clicking on my username, it says "loading your personal settings" then "logging off, saving your settings."
Following this, it then returns to the original welcome screen.

I have tried the re-boot and the same thing happens.

Can anyone please help?
