i have set up a home network with two computers, the server is connected to ntl broadband, this then connects to the second machine via lan. both machines are running windows xp professional, they can communicate with each other but the second machine will not connect to the internet. any ideas on how to cure this?

on the second computer? Turn it off if you are.

Do you have a dial up connection already configured as the default on the second computer? Delete it if you do.

Then reboot the second machine whilst the first machine is online.
