PC doesn't detect headphones when plugged in

So I bought (second-hand) this PC about 6 months ago and it has this weird problem. The problem is when I plug my headphones or earphones windows doesn't detect them. The weird thing is when I go to sleep mode and then start my pc again, the earphones will be detected when plugged in. But when I do this games tend to stutter way more for some reason. When I boot up the first time, I just use a dualshock 4 controller and then sound works just fine and my games stutter way less. I don't I have realtek audio hd manager installed so I can't mess with those settings. I have searched for some solutions but haven't anyone with this specific problem.

Help is much appreciated because I don't know much about pcs.
