Pay-Pal--- Pain Pal more like

  jack 20:06 05 Mar 2010

So I have 'Won' a bid on E-Bay
The final price is confirmed.
Pain Pal came up with my account.
With a different card ending number
[possibly a card discontinued two years ago]
Entered my current card number.
Pain Pal said this card is on another account.
And so we go around a closed loop.
Tried to contact them- but it too is a closed loop.
So start a new account.
Enter card number
Pain Pal says
This card is already in use on another account.

How do I get out of the loop
I have only the one card.

Just go to My Account - Profile - Add or Remove Card. Remove the old card, and then repeat the process and add the new one.

Not much help to you, but I had exactly the same problem with PayPal/E-Bay when I renewed my card a couple of years ago. I also tried just about everything to convince PayPal that my new card was genuine (it was only a normal card renewal), they just could not accept it. I tried for several months, in the end I gave up and have never used or attempted to use PayPal again. I

I have posted a message to seller to contact me.

Sorry it's caused you both such a problem - I was only going on my own experience when just two weeks ago I updated my card on PayPal without any grief.

I'm sure that thousands of us have updated our card details without any grief.

But I would be slightly worried if PayPay/eBay says, effectively, that someone is already using that card number. I would check my account with my card provider, to make sure there's no unexpected transactions; and I would then maybe get them to issue me with another new card, just to make sure.

Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

Had one or two problems with PayPal in the past, the latest only last month.

On a couple of occasions, when all else failed, I used the telephone.

That works like a dream, and the problems are sorted literally within minutes.

Your choice.
