i am looking to buy a PC and i came across the Patriot 3420 Base Unit £479.99 from PC World and i though it is good value but i have never heard of Patriot before and i would like to know if patriot is a good make or not?

I believe Patriot is a 'brand' exclusive to Dixons group click here for a page showing specification of the one you are looking at and links to similar alternatives. While I've not heard anything bad about them, I've never come across a Patriot enthusiast either.

I bought a Patriot Book type computer in 1999 (333 mhz, 4gb H/D) using Win 98SE from PC World and it's still working OK although I now use another larger PC.

Also had the same machine as Wak,my first comp.Not a bad little comp but everything was "on board" .Modem gave up so moved on.
