I have a Compaq Armarda M700 notebook with a forgotten start up password. How do I do one or more of the following. 1. Get at the CMOS jumper. 2 remove the motherboard battery (if there is one). 3 choose the correct BIOS update from the Intel V.26 build 004 it has at the moment? Any help would be most appreciated, as I have had no reply from HP/COMPAQ!

I have read somewhere about making a parallel port plug that will remove a password can anyone guide me on this?

PLEASE DO NOT SUGGEST CONTACTING HP/COMPAQ I ALREADY HAVE AND HAVE HAD NO REPLY!!!!

What is the BIOS make/name? You could try a backdoor password to get in to the BIOS and then change it for one you can remember.

Make sure you read the disclaimer at the top of the labmice.net webpage first.
