Partitioned Hard Disk?

  cornwall 08:57 05 Aug 2003

Friend has PC running XP, but her scanner will not work under XP - no drivers available.

Suggestion has been made to partition the Hard Disk and run the scanner from a W98 partition (Scanner works fine under W98).

Any ideas on how this can be achieved - Partition Magic 8?

A new scanner could be cheaper than a copy of Win98, and a lot less hassle - plus she can always sell on the older scanner.

She already has a copy of W98 so no problems there, and cannot afford new scanner as finances are tight.

With XP already existant, then Partition/Boot Magic's the way to go.

Agfa SNAPSCAN 1212P (with on/off switch) - according to Agfa this WILL NOT work under XP

Do you already own a copy of partition magic? If not a new scanner would not be that much more expensive.

What about this driver?

On second thoughts, reading the comments at the download stage, it looks a non-starter. Sorry.

Yes, have copy, but never had cause to use it!
