Partition Magic 8 (help)

  Mark-323050 19:37 09 Sep 2003

I've just used Partition Magic 8 to split my drive d:. I found it a simple enough task to create a partition but now I would like to delete it and re-use/ recover the space on drive d: that was allocated to the partition. I've read what I can in the Partition Magic 8 manual and I think I've done everything I need to do to recover this space, but alas no.
There is no longer a drive letter allocated to it - but it states that the XXGB is unallocated, but my space is still missing from drive D:
The drive info window appears like this:

drv type size used unused status pri/log
let mb mb mb
(d) FAT32 xxmb xxmb xxmb none logical
(*) unall xxmb 0.0mb 0.0mb none logical

I hope the little diagram can help someone recover my space.

Any help gratfully accepted.

Think it means the space is spare(unallocated). Can you resize the first partition to reclaim the spare space?

I've tried reditributing the free space to drive d: but there is never any chnge to the size of drive d:

Do what seedie says and resize your remaining partition to encompass the whole drive.

What more do you want when the question's been answered correctly?

I sussed it after a few hours. There was a disk error on the new partition, consequently Partition Magic couldn't merge the 2 partitions together to re-create the original partiton.

All is fine now again - except for the teeth mark in the desk.

Thanks one and all.
