Part installation of Win'98 2nd ed

  skylark101 22:25 02 Feb 2005

A friend of mine has somehow lost outlook express and some games that came with his Win '98 installation (solotaire etc;) can I reinstall these components without doing a full re-installation? and If so; how!
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Look in Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, Windows components.

If you go to Control Panel and click on Add/Remove programs, click on the Windows Update tab and make sure all the ticks are applied to the applications you want. You may have the have the Windows disk ready if the installation files haven't been saved to the hard drive.

Are you sure that they are gone? It is more likely that only the desktop icons have been deleted. The games are in the windows directory - Solitaire is sol.exe, Minesweeper is winmine.exe. Just right-click and drag to the desktop o create new shortcut icons.

Outlook Express is in C:\Program Files\Outlook Express as msinm.exe Again, drag to the desktop and rename the shortcut.
