parameter incorrect after connecting HD

  jerica 13:09 31 Dec 2016

Hi, just got a second hand HD, hooked it up and it said it wanted formatting which I did, then said it was good to go. A few days later hooked it up again and got cannot connect as the parameters are incorrect. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting and same thing. Any ideas? Thanks.

External HDD? what is the exact message?

Using it as external, message says F:\is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect.

Often caused by unplugging from USB port while drive is still being written to, always use the safely eject icon in the taskbar.

Hope you have nothing on it you need because your probably going to have to reformat it using disk management and run a chkdsk /f/r to make it usable again.

OK, I'll give it another go and be more careful, thanks.
