There is a new update for PSP9, but it's a 33Mb download.

Why is it that some software manufacturers don't release small patches to update the software, instead they make you download the whole package again. Jasc always seem to work this way, and my last update to Dreamweaver involved downloading the whole thing as well.

Is there some advantage to not patching software, or is it just easier to re-release the whole installer.

It's not so band with 1Mb ADSL, but I wouldn't want to have to download 33Mb of PSP 9 over dialup.

Little consolation to you, I expect, but I think that at 33mb, it probably is still a patch...

You're absolutely right, I just checked the original PSP9 installer in my downloads folder and it's 112Mb.

I was consusing it with PSP8 which was only around 30Mb.
