While working with a Paint file, it went off,
A box said,
Paint has encountered a problem and needs to close.
For more information click here,

Click on ?click here? another box came up with
System information and a module name,
Module name mfc42u.dll
Click for more info came up with an error report

Going to ?search? I found two files,
mfc42u.dll E windows\system32
mfc42u.dll E windows\winsxs\86

I have tried unticking Paint with,
Remove windows components,
Shutting down the computer, rebooting and
Reinstalling Paint with add windows components,

Also tried msconfig / expand file,
It could not find the file from XP home disk
Paint still will not run
how can i get paint back?

Paint icon is in Programs / Accessories
Click on it and get the same error box

I have now reinstalled XP Home over the top,
It has put another user on my computer,
I had to name it,
If I go into this account and click Paint,
Paint comes on screen
I still cannot ger Paint on the original user

Transfering all my files to the second user
I have deleted the original user,
I can now get Paint
