Overheating Laptop

I'm wondering if my Toshiba Laptop is at the end of its time. Satelite A60 some 4 years old. I've checked the fan and other inlet/exit areas all fine. The power supply box gets really hot though. The Hard drive in there is only a year old as I upgraded this from 40 gig to 120 last November.

I'm now at a loss as to where to look to see if I can't solve this problem as I have a new Novatech Laptop and wanted to pass this one to be used in the kitchen.

Any pointers Please.

Go and buy yourself a can of compressed air; horrendously expensive for what it is, but available from Maplin Electronics or similar.

Then blow out all the vents and crevices you can find. In addition, take off the covers on the bottom and do the same.

Most commonly, dust has accumulated around the CPU and graphics chip and a good blast is all it will need.

OK. I'll give that a go
