Can someone help with OUTLOOK 2000 please? I am not talking about OE here.

If I need to keep for a long time, folders/messages is it safer to archive these on a regular basis? Or simply store messages I wish to keep in a folder within Outlook.

I would suggest using AutoArchive click here

As with everything, if these messages are important, you should make an independent backup.

Many thanks for your quick response and help. I have printed the MS page and will sort this matter out. Also back up too. I have a Zip drive

Thanks, Yattonharry

A failsafe way to keep your messages safe is to find all the .dbx files on your PC. Make a note of where they are and then copy them to floppy or CD-R. If done on a regular basis, will keep an up to date backup of all things to do with Outlook. If you do the same to your .wab file, this will keep your address book safe too, even if you have a massive system crash and need to re-format the HDD.
