Win98se not My computer one I have just been to fix. As it would not start after a Brown out. He cannot send mail as gets a box pop up with error message something about a page fault in a DLL file and will close, OE5 I think.

I think Outlook Express was open when the Power cut occurred

The standard repair of IE also repairs OE.

It would help to know the faulting .dll and presumably it is Windows 98 (or earlier).

Sorry, 98SE - due for an eye check.

Yes but cannot remember the File. I was going to find a Disc with IE6 and install that to put it right.

Just phoned him for File Name SHLWAPI.DLL

You can get the file from click here but I think a repair is the best option.

Yes I have the file on my win98 computer but the Repair tool is grayed out it only shows for Add. That's why I was thinking of doing a Custom Install of IE6 as the version shows 5 in the Help file in Outlook Express and IE, but I think he as been doing updates so I think I so version 6 some where on is comp as I was fixing it

Try click here = the whole thing (including OE), not just the SP.

Solved By loading IE6
