I am running XP with all service packs and use Outlook Express 6 for e-mailing. Sometimes I need to forward an e-mail that I originally sent several months before. When I go into the listing of the sent e-mails all the usual details are there, including the correct dates and times when they were originally sent. However, when I forward a selected e-mail, the details of the original e-mail that are shown in the copy below the heading: “----- Original Message -----” change the original e-mail’s date and time to the current date and time.
This does not always happen but is confusing when it does – especially if I am aiming to impress upon the recipient just how long ago the original was sent.
I know that I can always edit the details of the forwarded e-mail but, because it’s an intermittent problem, I don’t always spot the change until I’ve sent it.
