Outlook Express Cant send E-mails

  Border View 11:20 27 Sep 2008

I have Windows XP and Outlook Express.

Yesterday on the automatic downloads I received and installed SP3. Everything was fine.

This morning when I turned on the computer the automatic downloads installed KB951978. After that I could no longer send e-mails via Outlook Express. I can receive but not send.

Did a system restore to before this mornings installtion, still no luck. Have again installed this latest download from Microsoft.

I have looked at the properties of my e-mail accounts and the appear as normal.

When I try to send e-mails I get the following error message

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Test', Account: 'Computer', Server: 'mailhost.zen.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0B

Can anyone please help me correct this error and enable me to send e-mails.

That update sounds familiar. There was an update which caused problems if you have the Zone Alarm firewall installed and the solution was to update your copy of Zone Alarm.

Thanks for responding mgmcc

Problem has resolved itself. Still not sure what caused it. Dont have Zone Alarm ditched it in favour of Kerio.
