Outlook Express

I am looking for some information. On my sister in laws pc, outlook express recently performed an archive. She now tells me that a lot of her emails have disappeared.
Is there a way to restore them?
Are they archived in a particular folder and if so which one?
Any help would be appreciated

You are asking a question that could be solved by a very quick search or by using the help file in OE. I googled outlook express archive and came up a lot of helpful tutorials

try a google yourself OE is a long way down this link:

If your sister in law instigated the archiving of messages they will be saved as *.eml to a folder (prob in My Documents) click here which also tells you how to restore the messages back to OE

On the other hand if it was OE automatically compacting the messages (which it does as a matter of course every 100 times the OE program is opened) and the process was interrupted causing loss of some emails then read click here thread which will advise what to do to get them back.

This thread is now locked and can not be replied to.
