when i try to open mail via oe I am asked for my password, when this is entered i cannot open mail and keep getting asked for password. i can send ok

error message reads

there was a problem logging on to your mail server your password was rejected

"your password was rejected" - possible also that you have the incorrect username entered; both have to be correct.

it seems that either the a/c has become corrupted (in which case delete/recreate) or your password has somehow changed check with bt for verification if you mail a/c has been set up via them.

In Outlook Express click on tools, then accounts, then properties for your mail account.
Check that the info in 'My incoming mail server is' and 'Incoming Mail (pop3)' is correct.
Also that your account name and password fields are completed
