Outlook 2010 cannot recieve emails

  STREETWORK 07:18 27 Sep 2010

I have installed Office 2010 and have problems recieving emails in Outlook 2010.

I have set up the POP and SMTP to my ISP (orangehome.co.uk) and can successfully send emails, but not recieve them. All other settings are as described on Orange website and duplicate the ones I used in Windows Mail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There lies the problem, just the standard error reported, server error...

Wierd that it will send but not recieve on the same mail server...

Double check your pop settings and the port used see click here. This is for Outlook 2007, but I doubt that 2010 is much different, again check all settings click here

Done all the POP and Smtp checks, still no joy with recieving emails...

What else is there to try?

I had to run Repair Office 2010. For those with a similar problem here is one fix.

When uninstalling previous versions of office (mine was office 2000) after installing Office 2010 it removes some of the .dll files needed to connect to the mail server. It also tries to reassign some registry settings.
