Oulook Express sending 19000 deleted messages

Hi, I use Outlook Express to view my email messages. Logged on today and discovered I was being sent over 19000 old messages which I had previously deleted. I am on dial up so would take ages for these to cone through. Does anyone know how to stop these or what I can do??? regards Kev

Disconnect the line for a start...:-)

You don't make it clear if the messages have been deleted after collecting with OE or have been deleted on the server via web mail.

Yes I diconnected then rebooted but they're still coming in. They were previously deleted from OE

Then you need to contact your ISP and ask what is going on?

Is it possible to disable OE temporarily then go to the web mail and see if they are there? You won't have to download them and you'll be able to delete them off the sever before they reach OE.

Perhaps you're just very popular. ;-)

Click the "Mail" tab

Select the account in question and click "Properties"

Select the "Advanced" tab

Make sure "Leave a copy of messages on server" is UNTICKED

If it is ticked you will get the symptons you describe.

If it is not ticked, then, as previously suggested, contact your isp!

I hope this helps,
