Opening email attachments

I am expecting to receive next week a number of emails with attached documents which will be in word.doc or - possibly in pdf format. I have MS works, not MS word. I'm not sure whether I will be able to open the documents. Any tips?

Works certainly has a wordprocessor that opens Word files (haven't used Works for ages but still have disk), but if these files are from a newer version of Word and don't open, try downloading the free Openoffice click here which is Word compatible. (I know for certain if you send a Word file to someone who has an older version of Word, you sometimes have to resave the file as an older Word format before sending, otherwise it won't open.) Haven't used the foxit software MAT ALAN recoomends, but Adobe pdf reader is free from click here

If you Just want to read and print MS word doc you can down load MS word viewer from Microsoft click here
