After installing some software and after the restart bit, the whole 'thing' has just died on me. I am unable to open any applications including IE.This is the error message:Error Starting ProgramThe OLEAUT32.DLL file cannot start.Check the file to determine the problem.I've tried do a system restore in 'safe mode' and nothing.Your help will be very much appreciated.Thanks!
Try:Start in Safe ModeNavigate to C:\Windows\System32Rename oleaut32.dll to oleaut32.oldRestart (into Normal Mode}Install click here

Hi,I've tried that and I get another message:'Windows cannot find 'sfc/scannow'. You may have typed the name incorrectly in the Run dialog, or another open program cannot find a system file.etc.'I think I will invest in a slegehammer.
It's sfc /scannow not sfc/scannow. Note the spaces.
No, still the same message with the space in it!
