this is a brand new desktop that was never set up. here is the problem originaly two week ago I hooked it all up and it worked just fine. now all it does is try to start over and over again. the power button just flashes. it does the rebooting all by it's self. thats all it does. any ideas. HP won't deal with it as it is a retired product.

This PC has DDR2 memory and an Athlon X2 processor.

Exactly when was this purchased as I can't see any retailer having these available new currently?

If purchased recently contact the retailer who sold it for support.

power off unplug

Open the case and check all motherboard connections are tight and connectios to hrad rive is tight. also remove and refit memory sticks hen retry.

If it's been sitting unused for a long time, I'd suspect that capacitors have gone down (either in the PSU or on the mobo).
