Hi, I used to have microsoft office 97 on my pc that my friend installed. I recently had to reformat my pc and lost office. The friend who installed it doesnt have the cds anymore and I can't afford to buy it, so are there any cheaper alternatives that can open office files such as .pps?

Try shopping (very carefully) in ebay. There are sometimes suites of MS Office for sale that are quite legitimate - and at a saving.

Once you've used the best, it's difficult to change.
