I HAVE JUST TRIED INSTALLING A COPY OF OFFICE 2000. NOW, WHENEVER I START MY COMPUTER, I GET THE FOLLOWING DIALOGUE BOX APPEAR:
OFFICE CANT FIND MICROSOFT FINDFAST AN ERROR OCCURRED AND THIS FEATURE IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. WOULD YOU LIKE TO REPAIR THIS FEATURE NOW?
WHEN I CLICK ON YES, IT TRIES TO REINSTALL WORD, THEN JUST DISSAPEARS. WHEN I CLICK ON NO, IT JUST DISSAPEARS. I HAVE TRIED UNINSTALLING AND RE-INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE. I HAVE TRIED THE REPAIR FUNCTION ON THE SOFTWARE BUT NO CHANGE. I HAVE HAD THIS OFFICE 2000 INSTALLED BEFORE BUT DELETED IT BY MISTAKE, NOW I WANT IT BACK AND HAVE BORROWED THIS COPY FROM A FRIEND. I DONT KNOW IF THAT HAS ANY RELAVENCE, BUT I CANT FOR THE LIFE OF ME WORK OUT WHAT HAS GONE WRONG OR HOW TO FIX IT. IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE HEARING FROM YOU. MANY THANKS, JOHN
Thanks Woodchip. Sorry about the caps lock thing! I have looked on my sartup tab but couldnt find MS fastfind, but I did find office. I have unchecked that box and all seems to be well. Message has gone when I start up and all office application seem to work ok. Does it sound like I have done the right thing in unchecking all of office at startup or could that cause me any other problems?
