OE6 versus Outlook

I currently use Outlook Express OE6, and it has served me well for the last 5+ years.

I'm considering moving to Outlook (proper) for a couple of reasons:- 1. i use it at work, 2. it must be "better" (??).

if i did go this way, (advise accordingly), how would i migrate all the mail and folders i have in OE6 to Outlook ?

I run 98SE, for now, soon to upgrade to W2K.

TIA

From OE: 1. File -> Export -> Address book . 2. File -> Export -> Messages. Follow onscreen intructions/options accordingly.

From Outlook: File -> Import and Export. Follow onscreen intructions/options accordingly.

If any problems please post back. Good luck, G

Though I use OE as my default client, I also use Outlook as a 'backup' by periodically (once a week or so) importing OE messages into Outlook. This way if OE stops working or messages get corrupted I can use Outlook while I try to repair OE. You could do this too, keeping OE as your 'backup'.

Outlook is more business orientated, which will be why you use it at work.

For most home users, OE is perfectly adequate.
