Hi folks, oe (provided by BT internet)has lost the paper clp for displaying attachments. It appears beside the prewiew but not at the top of the read box. Any ideas please? I haven't knowlingly done anything to cause this.
Tnx, Yaesu

Not sure how to replace the paperclip but you can go to 'Insert' and 'Attachment' for now.

On messages that you are sending or receiving?

VoG, it's received mails.

Good Q VoG!!

In that case, in OE go to tools and options, then Click on the security tab.

There are two checkboxes (near the top), make sure the one that says "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" is unchecked.

Hi, sorry for delay in response, due to work comitments. The problem isn't as suggested by smudge 101, rather the paper clip doesn't appear so no attachments can be opened. It's in the preview pane but not at the top right of the lower pane where it used to be, to allow attachments to be seen.
regards, yaesu

Not quite clear yaesu - you mention preview pane and then the "lower pane". In the days when I enabled the preview pane that WAS the "lower pane".
It's good practice to disable preview pane (in OE View>layout>untick preview pane option.) as a security measure.
Try it as a temporary thing at the moment, you can always switch back if you want to.
Then In your inbox double click on the "From...Subject" line of the email you want to open. Now the email will open and the paperclip will have been replaced by an icon for the attachment in the "Attach" line just above the main message. Double click on that icon to open the attachment.
If there is no icon there then follow smudge101's instructions and the icon should appear. (even on emails you've alredy opened and found the attachment missing).
