OE:01A7:BFF77328 - blue screen of death

  PvG 20:11 19 Jan 2004

I have a Dell Inspiron 7500 running Windows ME and when I boot up, I nearly always boot to the “blue screen of death”, with (usually) error code OE : 01A7 : BFF77328 but could also be OE : 01A7 : 06EB9898.
Dell says it is a problem in Outlook Express. I have run MeMTest86 and memory seems OK. The same software runs fine on my desktop.
If this is a software fault, how can I find out what it is and what is causing it, and secondly how can I resolve this?
Would love to hear from anyone who has experienced this or knows how to fix it.
Many thanks
Paul G

Apparently most people that have had similar problems have found it's either Norton Antivirus or Yahoo Companion that caused the problem. Uninstalling them cured the problem and in NAVs case upgrading the program.

In particular, maybe it's the email checking function of NAV that's giving you probs.

Oh...forgot...it's seems to be particularly isolated to Win Me
