Odd Sky router speed result

  Jollyjohn 13:30 12 Jun 2019

I was sorting out a poorly Mac earlier and the customer commented it had taken a while to download Mojave. I did a Speedtest - Ookla and got 6M download and 12M Upload!! He is on a fibre connection. I will be going back in a couple of days and I will swap filters and reboot the router. Is there any thing else to try before getting in touch with Sky? Thanks John

Yes you do if using a BT socket with only one connector. If a dual socket then no filter needed

It sounds very much like a line fault outside your client's property, but before you phone Sky, make sure you've proved this by connecting the router to the master socket's hidden test socket. Have a read here if you're not familiar with it. The advice is only applicable for single-port master sockets.

Thanks for the replies. There is a filter so I will swap it, just in case. I will try it in the master socket. Probably won't be back there until tommorow, will report back.
