ntldr.dll not allowing boot

Hi All
My Uncle rung today to say about the above problem. Apparently he used disk cleanup and compressed some files. Now on startup the problem is "Ntldr.dll is compressed, press ctrl alt del to continue". He does this and same problem occurs. He only has a recovery cd and it will not recover from this. Any suggestions?
TIA
Mark.
