When trying to install win XP pro onto my formatted HDD I am getting the following message, "ntkrnlmp.exe could not be found error code 7, installation cannot continue"

That is after loading boot disk 2 of 6.

When I try to load XP pro from CD ROM, I get the familiar "NTLDR is missing" message and can't get any further.

The PC is fine otherwise, I am using it right now with a different HDD and other version of XP pro.

Is there any way to get round these probs using windows on this HDD to access the other HDD and maybe even load my OS onto the other HDD ?

The HDD I am using at the moment is 20 GB Maxtor Fireball 3 5200 rpm.

The formatted one is Maxtor Diamond Max 9 80Gb 7200 rpm.

I am familiar with the NTLDR problem but it's the "ntkrnlmp.exe could not be found" that's causing me trouble.

Can't use auto install due to NTLDR prob, I am looking for a method of manually fixing these probs using windows.

This problem has now been resolved using A-V to scan floppies and also by re-making the set of 6 boot floppies.
