NTFS file access

  colin1409 20:56 13 Oct 2005

I have a PC running Windows XP Professional with NTFS and sign in to my User Account (Computer Administrator) using a password. My disk has become corrupt and couldn’t be repaired using Restore, or Repair with the XP disk so I have replaced the drive with a spare new disk onto which I have successfully reloaded the Windows XP and my other software.

I have then installed my original hard disk as the slave second disk so that I can recover My Documents and Settings. However when I try to access my old Document and Settings folder I get a message that the folder “is not accessible. Access is denied”.

On my new disk my User Account (Computer Administrator) is also password protected with the same password.

1.Is it possible to access my old files on the slave second disk?

2. How?
