Nothing On Screen

  Legslip 22:21 26 Mar 2008

Have a desktop that shows signs of life. i.e. power light and hd light come on at boot and fans run but I get nothing on screen (no BIOS splash or anything) totally black. Screen is OK, checked on other PC. Graphics is onboard.
Any suggestions?

Check the ram is seted correctly and clipped into place.

Also check the 4 pin 12v connector is connected near the cpu.

Reset BIOS to default settings by using clear CMOS jumper or by removing battery for 10 minutes and then try to reboot.

Thanks skidzy. Funny, it is a GA-7VM400M M/bd and I cant see a connection for the 4pin 12v lead. Odd!!

Took Bat out for 15 mins but no difference. It's an old PC, dont know manufacturer but there is a permanent green light and a permanent red light on the front case. Nothing on screen. What about trying an independant graphics card?
