Nothing opening on windows XP

  Rickyv 20:04 25 Nov 2003

When i try to open almost any file on my computer (outlook express, internet explorer, control panel, msn, and many others) it comes up with an error saying it cannot find that file. How can i solve this? I have tried searching for the files and when i click on them it says the exact same thing.

Thank you

Run Check Disk.

Start, Run, Type:

Click OK.

Or Type:

cmd /k chkdsk /f

Click OK.

OH can you type:

sfc /scannow

Have your XP disk in the drive and there is a space after SFC.

Have you got the swen virus?

click here and get the fuxswen.inf file and follow the instructions. Then run the removal tool. Both of these are found just under "-- Update September 19th 13:00 PST -- " on the aboce "click here".

PLEASE be careful with the names you give to these files!!!

You might not like Viruses but no need for that sort of carry on here!!!

Fat fingers not communicating with "brain".

I quite like the end result but not what I intended and unsuitable for the forum. Oh (again!) for an Edit button.
