Not a problem, just a question about computers
Does anybody know why computers beep when they start up? I've always wondered this and I've never found out.
One Beep means the bios check returned ok
Anything else and you have a problem... the number of beeps give a clue to the problem.
Let you know the fundamentals are sound. on startup they do something called a POST Power On Self Test. Satifactory completion of this and you get a beep, othewise you get a series of bleeps as an attempt to diagnose a problem.

Most computers beep when they start up to indicate they have posted correctly. To disable this could potentially limit your ability to diagnose problems.
1 beep = everything is fine
2 beeps ?
3 beeps, memory is faulty needs checking.
Anything more than 4 usually means hardware problems
