Norton and other antispyware

A friend uses Norton Internet Security (each to their own). I have recommended that he also uses Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Spyware Blaster. But he is adamant that he doesnt need it because he has Norton.

Could he actually use Malwarebytes and Spyware Blaster alongside Norton or would it be a pointless exercise?

Yes he can and no, it wouldn't be a pointless exercise. The number of computers I have cleaned with Norton installed, is not small.

They would work perfectly happily.

SpywareBlaster is a "blocker", run set the blocks and switch off, therefore no resources being used.

Malwarebytes would probably find tings that norton has missed.

Personally I wouldn't use any Norton products since Peter Norton sold out to Symtec I have found them to be overbloated and a "resource hog". Plus why pay when you can get the same if not better protection for free.

Many thanks for responding. I agree with your comments Fruit Bat /\0/\ but I cant persuade my friend otherwise.

Will try and get him to run Malwarebytes at least.
