Norton Ghost 2003 failing

  IanWilk 17:22 04 Nov 2003

Running windows me with all ms fixes, including the system restore one. I'm trying to back up using Ghost 2003 to CDRs, but it tranfers data to one or two disks, then fails to close the CD session, and aborts the process, giving options to try again or return to windows. Do I need to disable system restore, or is there apossibility of a failing RW drive, or any suggestions, please?

Have you set the switches to enable ghost to span disks?

So to understand: your trying to ghost an image from the 15gb partition on to cdrs? If so how many cdrs?

I haven't set the switches to span disks, but will check the book abt that. What I want to do is ghost the image from the larger partition [65gb] of the disk to CDRs - there is nothing on the smaller partition. The last time I did this successfully it took five CDRs. I can only use so many beermats!

You definitely need to specify a limit for the drive image so its broken down into manageable chunks. If using 700 mb disks specify 680. At the prompt type help ? to see all switches.

Tried again, same result More beermats. Which prompt for the switches, please?
