Norton ant-virus was part of package when I bought my PC last year and I am now being asked to pay for renewal of anti-virus.Should I pay up as BT Yahoo antispy is also installed for free.
Many thanks in advance,
Jim

Antispy is not anti-virus.

Why not try AVG free click here

In my opinion NO, there are plently of free security apps out there that do the job.

For av the main choice is either avast click here or AVG click here

Dont forget the firewall as well my choice is zonealarm but sygate and kerio also do free options too.

Anti spyware apps if on XP MS antispyware, then there is spybot, adaware, a2, ewido, spywareblaster which is not a scanner but helps prevent the blasted stuff in the first place.

All are free just google for links.
