Norto Internet Security advice please

Norton internet security has advised that a "Windows subsystem is attempting to access the internet". The details shown are, The date, Time,Program Subsystem, Protocol TCP Outbound. It asks, do I want to permit or block it. What is this please and what should I do with it? All scans show nothing.

What does Norton recommend when it gives you the message? It's usually safe to accept their suggested action.

some windows items calls home, it is probably one of these, I permit windows to do it's thing and have never had any virus as a result.

Hi beynac, It gives you a choice to select of block or permit although block is in the small box but that doesn`t indicate that it`s what it`s recommending. My os is xp2 BB so it can`t be a dialler. So far I have blocked it when it`s appeared.

Sorry. My version of NIS used to have 'Recommended action' shown in the message box.

Will try "Permit" next time it shows and see what happens. Thanks for replying. Will tick resolved for now.
