Go to START/ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS and select Internet explorer. You will be offered an option to repair Internet Explorer. The two programs are closely tied and this will probably do the job. If this does not work, try running the Windows disc, and select install. You will not get another copy of Windows on top of the old one, it will just replace any missing or corrupt files. This should work in Windows 98, I am not sure in XP. I think you have to run msconfig, others will advise on this
