I think you will get the same message from an agent like Jessops........A repaired Olympus 3040 cost £130 ish including a £40 deposit to sort out the mechanical zoom which didn't after dropping it.

I was able to pass the repaired one down the family but otherwise ..... its a hard world!

The cameras are an example of fantasticly robotic design and construction. Any repair is a one-off job needing high skill and using very expensive spare components. The manufacturer would rather sell you a new one.
