No sound with VGA cable

I've just bought a VGA cable to connect my PC to my LCD Finflux TV. However, there is no sound coming through the TV (picture is fine). Some people have said I need a seperate audio cable but I've heard that you don't. I've downloaded the XP Codec Pack but not quite sure what to do with it or if this is the right thing to download

VGA cable is video only, so yes a seperate audio cable needed.

Positive a connection is required for audio
VGA is graphics only as stated
