No Sound

My friend's pc has no sound at all and the following is part of summary, used Belarc:

What type of sound card is in the machine?

Did the sound work before?....Did it just stop working?

Do the speakers work?...have U tried them on another machine.

Is the cable plugged into the right port?...usually the green one.

Start - settings -control panel - sounds and audio devices - Volume tab make sure slider is set to high and mute box is NOT ticked.

Advanced - check all sliders t top and nothing muted.

When using Belarc...what did it say under Multimedia ?

Have you checked Device Manager to see if the driver is installed ?
