I have a laptop that has suddenly decided not to make a sound. It was fine yesterday, but now all i get is nothingness. All volumes are at full, realtek drivers are upto date. Also making it slightly more concerning is the fact that there is nothing coming out of the earphone socket either!
Laptop Info:
Toshiba P10 802
Pentium 4M 3.02 Ghz
512MB Ram
Realtek AC97 Sound Chipset
Windows XP Home Edition.
Any More Info you need, please ask.

Hi, sounds (no pun intended) much like a hardware problem to me, possibly something as simple as a poor connection.

Yeh, thats what i was afraid of, thankfully the warranty runs out in October so off back to toshiba i think!

Yep, fruit bat was right, today i started to use WinDVD Creator which for some reason had overridden the main Sound - the volume was right down so i turned it up and all was well!
Thank You All. T.
