No Sound

I,ve no sound, went into control panel & was instructed from there to go to add/remove programmes & install volume control program also in audio, being told that windows cannot execute SndVol32.exe go to as above & install. Simple eh!! Install from where ??

For Win 98 try this:

You can start Volume Control by clicking Start, pointing to Programs, pointing to Accessories, pointing to Entertainment, and then clicking Volume Control.

Has the sound just stopped? You're not giving us much to go on. Is it Windows sounds or CD player?

Both, sound was ok 2 days ago, opened comp this afternoon & nothing. Was thinking of using system restore

None, just ran direct x diagnostic tool & confused myself even further

OK, you need to check in Device Manager to see if your sound card drivers are happy.
