NIS 2003 will not allow any internet traffic

  Madam Mim 14:50 13 Dec 2003

I am re-installing Windows Me for the first time and have a problem with internet access via NTL broadband. My connection is fine if Norton Internet Security is disabled, but when enabled it blocks absolutely everything. When I try to open NIS to change the settings I get the error message 'Nmain has caused an error in NISPLUG.DLL', and on closing the message I get 'unhandled error exception Ox0000005 has occurred'. NTL support won't help me, and Symantec's site has me going around in circles. Can anyone help?

I don't use the software but try this which I copied from click here

Go to START, then RUN and enter Regsvr32.exe"C:\windows\system\ccpasswd.dll"

I don't know whether the quote marks should be included when you do this. Perhaps someone with more knowledge could advise.

Failing that try completely uninstalling it then re-install it.

Or alternatively try ZoneAlarm.
