new pc hardware config

  georgeous 12:23 20 Mar 2003

I know it's been asked before, but....
I'm buying a new PC, on power-up I want to quickly
check the hardware config, i.e. did they fit the
specified graphics card and assoc ram, etc..
Is there a freeware proggie out there to dump the
h/w config and if poss. the bios settings.
any ideas considered...
you hear to many horror stories on new buys.
thanks in advance.
