new hard drive help

I have a medion 8080xl with 160 gb hd and want to fit another 160 gb will this be ok and how do i no whitch one to get please

There should be no problem fittin another hard drive, you should have a spare slot in your computer. Just make sure you set the new hard drive jumpers to Slave. As for which one it is your choice all the well known makes are reliable,as a suggestion try Maxtor

Anyone should do assuming that you have the space for it... if you have only one hdd and one / two optical drives, then you are more than likely to have one.

Try for one with 7,200 rpm and an 8mb cache (although the latter is not so vital).

go for IDE 100 or 133 on board IDEUltra DMA66/100/133 can connect up to 4 IDE devices .
I have spare plug and cable conector between IDE and dvd writer or will it be better to go for a firewire external is there any prefference please
